Dear Dad and Mom,
It’s just my first week of classes but I am already learning a lot of life skills.
Let me see. What did I learn this week? Hmmm.
I learned to control my body. You think I’m just sitting down? I am commanding my brain to control all my muscles to sit down, stay cool and relax. Adults think preschool kids don’t know how to control. I do. I learn it in school. Diff’rent kids learn at diff’rent pacing. Some take longer to learn how to sit cool.
I learn how to wait nicely. Do you have any idea how much muscles and brain power is involved in waiting while I hear a voice in my head that says “Let’s go paint. C’mon!” Shh, good kids know how to wait. I’m good!
In Preppi School, I am allowed to make wise chooses. This is my art work and I will choose my own colors. My teacher said it’s called “Guided Choices”. I feel free to express myself here. My smile says it all.
There are times when I can work independently. I am a lil executive. See, I have my own space and I know what I am doing. My teacher taught me how to do it and she trusts me that I can do it well. This sure boosts my self-esteem.
I know I’m just a preschool kid but even on my first day, I learn how to do my personal inventory and accountability. I like it that my teacher watches over me but lets me do my thing with my own hands and own mind. This is how I look when I am concentrating.
Ahh! The joy of washing my own hands. It is a life skill I love to do. Preppi makes everyday tasks so much fun. I love it! Bubbles, water and my hands go together really well.
I like the way my teacher teaches me. She smiles and patiently shows me how. Then I do the same steps on my own with my own art work. Each work I do in school is made by own hands.
When I am concentrating, my teacher respects it. She gives me the time and space. Silence, genius at work. Shhh.
Preppi knows kids very well. How can I resist playing with cars, puzzles and numbers at the same time? I am totally hooked to fun learning.
Did you know that scientists say that Filipinos are clumsy with their hands because they are not given enough hand exercises? Well, I am not going to be one of ‘em because while I am young, I am mastering hand manipulations so that I will be an expert someday. I have good genes. My father is a dentist and I want to be like him and be very good with my hands. These Practical Life Exercises really help me focus and control. See, I don’t even spill.
